My name is Bruce Gilbert and I am a lifelong resident of Northampton County. I attended Easton Area High School and in 1978 I had the wonderful opportunity as a captain to lead our football team to an undefeated season. My wife Gina and I wed in 1988 and live in Palmer Township, Easton, where we raise our five children. We are proud residents of Northampton County, and proud of the role our county plays in Pennsylvania. It is this exact pride in Northampton County that has led me to announce my candidacy for Northampton County Council.
Decisions made at the County Seat play an important role in our lives and require great responsibility and an executive-level skill set to guarantee fiscal strength. I will bring this level of professionalism to the Council and provide the necessary leadership for keeping our county strong.
After graduating EAHS, I completed a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in Economics at Marshall University. I believe in continuing education and I completed graduate studies at American InterContinental University in 2006 with a Masters of Business Administration, M.B.A. degree with a concentration in Finance and Marketing.
I have been a Vice President and Senior Financial Specialist with Wachovia Bank since 2001. My financial and business experience skill sets will help me to make sound policy decisions while serving on the County Council. I have over 12 years of executive-level business financial management experience including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, marketing, and implementation—all experiences that are sorely needed on our County Council. Additionally, I am knowledgeable in financial instruments and am licensed to trade securities as well as life and health insurance.
I also serve as Professor of Finance and Business Management at Muhlenberg College in Allentown Pa. I am an accounting instructor at Northampton Community College, and I enjoy sharing my financial education and experience with students. It would be an honor to bring this experience to the County Council.
